Rev. Arlette Razafimanantsoa
Director of Education

 

Arlette got her Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Theology from the Faculty of Theology Ambatonakanga (Madagascar). After 10 years of ministry in Madagascar, she moved to the US and earned her Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fuller Graduate School of Psychology in Pasadena. Currently she is working on her doctorate in Counseling Psychology at Argosy University in Santa Ana.

Arlette has served the Church of Jesus Christ in Madagascar in many capacities: pastor, dean of seminary students, teacher, chaplain, and children and youth spiritual advisor. 

 

    Donald Johnson
Senior Ministry Assistant

 

Don has been a member of the Reseda First United Methodist     Church and its choir for over 40 years.

He graduated from Claremont McKenna College with a B.A. in Business Administration, earned a General Secondary Credential while attending classes at UCLA and a Counseling Credential through CSUN.

He was a counselor and teacher at the Los Angeles Unified School District's Sepulveda Middle School for 37 and a half years.

 

   Jennifer Fornadley
Youth Ministry Assistant

 

Jennifer is a recent graduate of California Lutheran University. She got her Bachelors Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Business Economics and a minor in Mathematics.

Jennifer has been a member of Reseda First United Methodist Church her whole life. She has served on various committees such as the Staff Parish Relations Committee and Youth Council. She is currently a Sunday School teacher for the junior and senior high classes. With her spare time at church, Jennifer enjoys lay reading, ushering, and greeting.


Susan Lowe
Church Secretary

 

Susan moved to California after living in Michigan most of her life. She received B.S. degree in Business Administration from Davenport University in Grand Rapids, MI; Associate Vocal degree from Grand Rapids Community College; and Elementary Education minor from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI.

She has worked in offices as a Secretary/Administrative Assistant for over 20 years. Her past experiences include working as Camp Registrar for the West Michigan Conference of the United Methodist Church, serving Rockford and Vergennes United Methodist churches in Michigan in various capacities, and serving on Local PTA while her children attended school.


     Dr. Heewon Kwon
Director of Music

Heewon graduated from USC with BM, MM in Piano Performance, and also DMA in Sacred Music. Currently she is a faculty member at Colburn School of Performing Arts

Her family immigrated from Korea to Los Angeles in 1965. Since their arrival in California, they have been involved in church ministry, specifically in the area of music. Over the years Heewon has focused on studying, composing, performing, and conducting sacred music. She has been the music director of FUMC of Reseda since 2001, though her relationship with the church goes back to 1977, when she served as the organist.


Cassie Nickols
Organist

Cassie is currently pursuing her DMA in Piano Performance at USC's Thornton School of Music where she received her BM and MM in Piano Performance as well. She studies both classical and jazz piano with Bernadene Blaha and Dennis Thurmond.

Cassie has been involved with Reseda FUMC since she was an infant and has been the organist here since 2000, though she has been a substitute accompanist for much longer. Cassie has been involved with many aspects of the church, such as UMYF, in which she served as president from 2000-2001, however music has been her focal point and passion throughout her years here.
